HP J3608 How to make it print only black

Hello,
I have hp J3608 all in one printer the problem is colour ink is costly,so i want my printer to use only black however i am not able to do so I tried changing the setting to print in gray scale it didnt work also tried removing color cartridge it didnt work as well color parts came out blank can anyone help please?

If the grayscale mode doesn't work, resetting your printer to factory settings or re installing it on the machine could do the trick. There is something set in the printing preferences that prohibits you to print in grayscale, unfortunately.
