Can you see the Dell logo and/or start the diagnostic routines via F8 or F11 at start-up?

I have met this problem before, and the screen sometimes works and sometimes do not, the cause is something in hardware had broken, and the ultimate resolution is to contact Dell for a repair. Or it would get worse and worse and ultimately you could not open the computer at all.
