I used different softwares like windows 7 and windows 7 ultimate with CD's and USB's. Also I tried Ubuntu every time when I startup the computer and run the cd it goes black and then comes back to the set up page. I changed the bios so either the DVD drive or USB drive started up first but it changed nothing. One last thing the HDD password says it's frozen, idk if that is an issue but someone please help me find out how to get an operating system back on this computer

But by removing recovery data, would that prevent me from trying to install an operating system through a installing cd or flash drive. And I thought that DBAN had a good name and was trust worthy

When I plug in and run the CD instead of the black screen it says a bunch of stuff and PXE-E61: media test failure, check cable

Hello,
your computer is trying to boot from LAN, change the boot order so the CD is the first boot device.
make sure your CD is a bootable CD.

Cd first HDD second and LAN is last unless if I tried from a USB drive in which case I had the USB first instead of cd. I already did this and I didn't change the same message is there. Thank you for your input though
