HELP My MicroSD no longer appears on my screen

Hi All, have read hundreds of threads to see if they could help me before posting this but none seem to have my specific problem. I have a large MicroSD card that was used in my phone with a ton of irreplaceable photo's. Now when I plug my card into my MacBook through an adapter the light on the adapter does not start flashing like it does with other SD cards and nothing at all appears on my screen!!! Just as if it doesn't exist! I have tested other SD cards with the same adapter and MacBook all work fine. And this one has worked fine in the past. All recovery software I have tried needs something to be there to scan?? Help please anyone
