Attempting to make photo disc for first time to make space on pc

My question is I have Roxio 6 or easy cd, it comes up incompatible on my windows 7.Would downloading the roxio 9 version solve my problems? Should I remove older version before attempting to download new?

I don't think it is necessary to remove the previous, it may just update.
