I have gone through the download process but still don`t seem to have a way to activate the scanner driver via desk top icon.
Can some one please advise me on how to start using the Mustek 1200 scanner?

Hi,

Go to start menu -> All Programs -> Right click on Musket Scanner option -> click on CREATE SHORT CUT / PIN TO TASK BAR

Try to uninstall Scanner drivers and re install it. During re installing choose the option "Show the desktop icon" and tick on the check box. Now you can easily use it.
