Hello,

I also had the black screen problem with my Sony laptop. I have had it for about 3 to 4 years now and it is very slow. Do you think the black screen problems indicates that I should get a new laptop.

Yes with a 4 year old laptop it is probably cheaper to replace it than to try to fix it.
