Adobe Flash Problem

I have tried countless times to install adobe flash player without success. I have followed the various different steps from adobe help again without success. Sometimes I get an error, sometimes I am asked to close windows and re-start and I've even had " welcome to flash player, enjoy ......". When I try to use a site that requires flash player it asks me to install it....Please, Please someone help?~@<:&%£$_)*&(!!
