Compaq Presario Power Up Issues

Hi - I have a Compaq Presario (4 years old-ish) that has had a strange problem for about 4 weeks... When I switch on I get the power light, the fan noise and [sometimes] the caps lock light. However, approx 2 times out of 3 nothing else happens! I then have to hold the power switch for 5s to shut down, and then try switching on again. It can take anything from 2 attempts to 15 attempts but always turns on in the end! I know it will switch on when I see the caps lock light flash slowly. Once on, it all works fine.

I have tried with battery in and battery out - same result. I have tried a different power supply. I have tried different RAM. I have tried holding the power button down for 60s. No change!

Is this just a sign of a dying motherboard, or is something else going on here?!

Any ideas much appreciated!

It probably is a dying motherboard.

Hi can anyone help my boyfriend has this desktop pc and it powers on but no beep post codes and no display on monitor.Ive stripped it down and gone through each troubleshooting but cant find anything wrong ?? someone please help before i crack uo lol many thanks

The system time is invalid. This may be a result of a loss in battery power. Set the correct time and date using your operating system If this message persist you may need to replace your onboard battery

LG Gram laptop won't turn on

Hello,

I bought an LG Gram at Costco back in August. It's worked pretty much fine, and I used it on a trip just over a month ago with no issues (on Nov 5-7). I set it to charge via USB-C and that's worked fine, even the time I let my laptop die and recharged it via USB-C.

I haven't used my laptop since Nov 5-7. Yesterday, I opened my laptop and pressed the power button. Nothing happened.

I plugged in my Anker USB-C charger, the same one I used before, and the charging LED blinked once. The power button light blinks 3 times, as do the F5 and F9 keys. The keyboard will sometimes flash and then go dark.

monitor keeps going in power save mode

Hello,
I am trying to connect my laptop to a monitor. The monitor worked fine with a pc when I last used it, a while ago. I have recently used the same laptop with another monitor, and that worked fine. But those two together... the best I managed was to get the monitor to show me the laptop's desktop for 2 seconds before going back to safe mode. Any idea what's going on??
