New motherboard, black screen

Hello,
I just installed a new motherboard on my gateway Zx4931. After swapping everything over multiple times and re-checking all my connections. Every time I power it up the fan kicks on and everything seems to start except there's just a black screen and the usually blue lit power button has no light. When I go back to my old mobo everything works just fine. Powers up and displays just fine. Is this just a faulty mobo?

Can you confirm in the manual that your motherboard supports your CPU. Just because it fits, doesn't mean it's right.

yes I have, and it is the same OE one that came out of the computer.
