Desktop comes on then goes off suddenly

Hello,
my dell desktop comes on then reaches a certain level goes off without even booting windows.so what am i to do to it

This sounds like a hardware problem that only a PC tech with "hands on" access to the laptop can solve. I suggest you have a local tech take a look at it. I could be a simple memory card problem, a hardware error on the hard drive or a motherboard failure.
