What version of Windows are you using?
Did you try restoring Windows to a date before the problem started?

No but that has not worked for other people having the same problem.
I'm seeing this reported on another forum and those participants have tried almost everything for the chrome search engine (others not mentioned) on Windows 10 down therefore 10 should not be blamed. I'm on 10 with this laptop.
It has been suggested that Canary will fix it but if you have lost the ability to get on the web (all my search engines are down) then you can't download possible fixes.
Is there a way to download any of the search engines (Firefox, Google or IE) to a USB drive for a reinstall if that would work?
