Frustrated.....wifi not connecting!

I'm trying to connect to my wireless router to get onto the Internet but it keeps bouncing back saying that the connection has timed out??? Anyone know why this is? I'm connected to all other devices in my house but can't get my laptop to connect?? Any ideas?

What OS do you have on the laptop?
Did you connect using the laptop at work to a network?
Did you try a wired connection?
