Cpu upgrade

Hi, wonder if anybody can help. Just upgraded my cpu from 2 core to 6 core. After installing it the computer won't boot. All fans and disk drives work but no signaal to monitor. Hdd light does not come on. Has anyone got any ideas.

Did your Motherboard supports your newer upgrade? Are you sure about it?

Tell something about your system specs.

Motherboard is AM3+. Original cpu was amd athlon 2 new cpu is fx6300. Motherboard is asus m5a78l, got 8 gb of ddr3 1333

As for as I see your Motherboard socket support fx6300.

Did you insert it properly? Still not resolved? If yes may be you need BIOS update.
