Hello, I am Sugarglyder, so glad to have found CCM.

I have a XPS Laptop. ( https://prnt.sc/991le9 )

When the laptop is left on all night the screen goes black, then I have to reboot to use it.

When using the laptop it gets extremely hot (fan is working)

Thank you,

Hey there, Sugarglyder and welcome to CCM. :)

If the computer gets so hot, perhaps it's time for its annual cleanup.
As for the black screen, there could be numerous reasons for this to happen. You could go through various diagnostics tools for your, GPU, CPU, RAM, HDD/SSD, etc. and stress test the computer as well. However my advice would be to take the laptop to a computer service shop and along with the cleanup you can request for full diagnostics, to see if there's any part which is acting weird or has some sort of issue. Don't forget to make a backup of any important data which you might have on the hard drive.

Hope that helps. Please let me know how everything goes.

Thank you I will try
I have had Dell work on this laptop 4 times in just the last year.
Every time I get it back it works great for a week or two.
Then it starts getting hot.
If I leave it on over night, most mornings, I have only a black screen
To do a restart, I have to shut it off totally, then reboot it.

I know some about computers. I have to restore this couple times a year the last 3 years.
I have finally given up taking it too the shop, they have replaced everything in the computer.

Thank you for your suggestions.
