I just bought myself a new N300 NETGEAR adapter. I found the instructions quite easy and I finally got to plugging the adapter into my PC. The NETGEAR Genie browser shows up on my tabs and yet I couldn't open it. I figured it was the USB adapter so I tried different USB ports. The ports work for everything else in my PC except apparently for my USB. Tip: When setting the adapter up through the CD, I used Install Windows Standalone Driver because the regular setup was not working correctly.
