I am an American living in Germany. I would like to know if I buy a laptop here in Germany, (which would be a German language and German system laptop). Could I convert this German laptop to a complete American laptop? I under stand German very well, but I feel more comfortable with a computer in English. I plane to vacation next year in the states and maybe buy a new laptop. If I buy one there and bring it back to Germany I would have to pay customs. So it would be cheaper if I get a German computer here and convert it.
Would someone please help me? But remember, convert an all German computer to an all American computer.
I thank you for any information receive.

Bob

Hello

We don't know about customs in Germany.

Yes, it is possible to change a computer's operating system language.

Thanks for your fast answer.

The German customs are 11%, and maybe an additional 19% sales tax. This would apply on an item over 430 euro.

How would I change the operating language? It would probably be Windows 10.

Hi

You would go to the control panel, click on clock and language, add a language and choose English. Then, you would change the entry language to English.

11% + 19% wow!

Thanks, I'll remember this.

Where do you live? I live in the Frankfurt area. I've been here for 47 years.
