Hi Jlb,
Are you sure the laptop boots normally and issue is only monitor related? In that case, try to connect an external monitor or a TV to the laptop and check if there will be signal. If the screen remains black, most probably there is a problem with the laptop’s hardware.
If you get screen signal, then you should contact a technician in order to get the best assistance on where to connect the monitor.
