Can't install adobe

Hello,i somehow am unable todownload flash player every time i do it gives me a message "unable to authenticate player" . i don't use firefox and am using windows XP

hey thank you so much for the help and am grateful but i wanted to ask that i am still unable to view certain websites that need a flash player please guide me
