Moving data from broken pc to external caddy

Hello,

Got a broken PC with Windows XP Operating System. The PC won't start up or find the last known safe start up point. If I get an external caddy to transfer pics and music from the broken PC will any viruses or damaged files also be transported and infect new PC?

hi,
you can connect the hard disk to the othr computer using an IDE cable.
you should equipped the new PC with an updated antivirus, then you may transfer the files you want.
