How to install xp

Hello,
my problem is that i have a compaq presario c-40-330tu laptop and it has free dos os.but the problem is that when i install xp in it, the installer do not start. i have sata 160 gb hdd, core 2 duo processor.ans dvd writer.
so please help me how to install xp in it

hi,
check the boot options and put boot from CD as the first priority.
put the installation in the disk drive and then reboot the computer.
press any key when you are prompted to do so and the setup will start.
