Laptop power on but the screen shows nothing

I own a HP dv2000 pavilion laptop and it been giving problem lately when I powered it on the screen shows nothing and when the screen finally comes up it display white or creamy colour and the screen we go off back.
What can I do?

It appears that your motherboard and/or video chip is failing. It's probably time to replace the laptop.
