OK, well take an ethernet cord and connect it. Then go to the cmd prompt and see if you pull an IP address. To do that, you issue a IPCONFIG /RELEASE, wait for confirmation, the issue an IPCONFIG /RENEW. Wait for confirmation. Now issue an IPCONFIG /ALL and post back the information displayed. If your IP address is nothing even close to your gateway, then more than likely you are not pulling an ip address. In that case, contact your ISP!
