Formetted external HD , it does not work now

Hello,
I had old external hard disk with enclosure and USB. It was working fine. I formetted it using NTFS (format command)... which seems to format but at the end it gave error and stopped. Now it does not work.
When I plug USB my PC assigns it a drive E, but if I click on E: it asks me to format, if I say ok it gives another error that it cannot format.
I downloaded swissknife to format, but when I open swissknife I do not see E:

hi,
try it in another computer and see the result.
if the same thing persists, then try to update the driver.
go to device manager, right-click on the hard drive and then select on properties;
click on driver, select update driver.
