Your little iPhone can photograph large pages! Learn these tricks
Your iPhone offers many hidden features that can sometimes come in handy and make your life more convenient, but many people are not even aware of them. For example, saving an image of an entire web page.
Almost every day we take one or even several screenshots on our smartphone. This is a very fast and convenient way to save a photo or any information. Some apps don't allow you to take screenshots, but in most cases it's easy and simple, be it your friend's cool Instagram Story, train schedules or restaurant menus and much, much more.
If you still don't know how to do a simple shoot of your iPhone's screen, here's a quick guide:
If you have an iPhone with Touch ID, press simultaneously the Home button and the Power button. If you have an iPhone with Face ID, hold and press the "Volume Up" and "Power" buttons at the same time. Done, your screenshot is saved in the Photos app! In addition, after you made and saved your screenshot you can edit it, for example, crop or rotate it. To start working on editing the screenshot, click in the lower right part of the picture. You also can send it using the forwarding function to other users via various social networks and messengers.
But your iPhone is capable of much more. Did you know that you can take a photo of an entire web page on your Apple smartphone, even if it takes up more space than your smartphone screen shows? Moreover, you can do this on all models of iPhone, including older phones and those that have not been updated to the latest versions of iOS. Note that a full snapshot will take up much more space on your device's memory than a regular screenshot, and therefore we advise you to save only the most important pages..
To take a screenshot of a full webpage in Safari or your Mail app on iPhone:
- Open that mobile browser page or email in your phone's mail app and follow the same steps we gave you above.
- Once you have done this, bring up the screenshot you took and click on the "Full Page" command located in the upper right corner, below "Share and delete photo".
- Save a screenshot of your iPhone or share it with others. Full page shot taken!
But the possibilities for creating screenshots don't end there either. If you need to save only part of the image of your screen, you can crop your screenshot before saving it. This will give you more confidence that unwanted content will not leak into the wrong hands.
To take a screenshot of part of the screen, do the following:
- Make a regular screenshot by simultaneously pressing the keys we talked about above.
- Tap the image thumbnail, which will immediately appear in the lower left corner of the screen.
- Touch and drag the white frame around the photo from any of the side or corner bars to trim away unnecessary information.
- You can now also share your screenshot of part of the screen. To do this, click on the "Share" icon.
- Select Messages, Mail, or another app and follow the onscreen instructions to share the screenshot. If you want to save the screenshot or delete it, click "Done".
