Hello,
I'm using dell inspiron 640m laptop(runs on XP home edition SP2) which I'd purchased 2 years back. But then i had no problem. Now I've formatted my system and when i go to install XP using the CD given by dell, I'm getting some error messages like files are corrupt. Since 2 years i had never used the CD...now what to do?if i ask dell people they're saying to purchase new CD from Microsoft which i don't want to...Please Help me.... Please...

hello,

maybe the error is coming from a hardware issue but before being sure of that just try to get a windows cd with a friend and then try to launch the installation and if the problem persists then this may be the cause of a hardware issue indeed.

hi,

Are you sure drive is right?

Yes, of course it is....because of that I've installed pirated XP Professional from my friend. Is there any way to make it genuine(of no cost).
