Gift box & tractor dropdown menu won't work

Running IE8 & windoes 7. Never had this problem before - just in the last week. When I click on the gift box or the white arrow tool, the popup menu shows to choose your function, but the functions don't work. It keeps clicking on the coop (the button that's under the giftbox popup button) or on an item on my farm (whatever is under the tool popup option I click).
