Hello, I had to reinstal windows vista basic on this hp 550.when I did it I now had a smaller size screen inside to watch than the 15 inch size. so I now have two big black lines left and right of the screen. I would welcome if someone can tel me what to do to get everything to view in the original screen size of the laptop 15 inch thanks

Hi tumtum,

Try this 1,

Click on Start --> select "Control Panel"---> Click on "Appearance and

Personalization"---->click on "Personalization----> then click on "Display Settings".

Now move the slider arrow to select your desired screen resolution (try

1024x768 or higher)

If the problem still exists, try installing the display drivers. You can download the

drivers from manufacture website. Just click on this link.

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/siteHome?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us

Enter model number and click on search.

Then select your laptop model-->click on "Software & Driver Downloads"-->select

your OS from dropdown menu---->then download the "Graphics"

drivers--->install it and try adjusting your screen resolution if it doesn't adjust

automatically.
