I can't watch a movie using VLC in vista,Closed

Question

Hello, I using windows vista servicepack2. I used to rent movies at the local blockbuster and watch  them in my Laptop ( Emachine ) using VLC Media Player .Now , everytime that I tried to play a movie I get the DESKTOP WINDOWS MANAGERstopped working and was closed. 
 why is it doing so and how can I fix it?

Hi,

Reinstall the application or roll back the pack 2 update to pack 1 will make you be able to use it again.

Hello,

When using VLC to read a movie don't forget to disable your screensaver, this has been the source of many issues in the past.

I can't watch a movie using VLC in vista,
