My DVD/CD drive won't Run

Hello,

I've been having a problem with my DVD/CD drive on my HP dv4 pavilion, when I put in a disk I can hear the drive trying to work but nothing plays, so I go and use RUN, but a window pops up telling me to insert a disk. I would uninstall the driver but I'm not very sure how to re-install. Any tips would be wonderful. I really hope I don't need a new driver. O, Also I've gone through and updated the driver, and it is all up to date. Please help!
