Locating excel files and copying using macro

Hello,


I want to copy certain data on rows and columns of different excel file from one tab with the date as the identifier and put it in a new excel file. what was the macro to be use for this? That is if a have one folder with so many workbooks and one workbooks have many tabs with dates as the tab names, how can I get the data from a certain column and row and dump them all to one new excel file. That is I will be consolidating all the the data on different workbooks lets say for the date yesterday (tab) and put them all in one tab for a new excel file.

A sample data would help in understanding your requirement. Sounds like you need a macro

yes i need a macro syntax in copying certain data on a certain tab from one excel file to other.

you can record you action via macro recorder that will give you the syntax that you are looking for plus will also can serve as a template
