Locating excel files and copying using macro

I want to copy certain data on rows and columns of different excel file from one tab with the date as the identifier and put it in a new excel file. what was the macro to be use for this? That is if a have one folder with so many workbooks and one workbooks have many tabs with dates as the tab names, how can I get the data from a certain column and row and dump them all to one new excel file. That is I will be consolidating all the the data on different workbooks lets say for the date yesterday (tab) and put them all in one tab for a new excel file.
