Hello,
Looks like failure of the card since the lateral swicth fails to indicate wireless signals. Some times did light for a second and then went dead. Before going to Dell I am thinking about ordering the card for some less expensive seller. The home wifi is ok. Any suggestion? Thank you.

Hi Siboney1,

If you are referring to the switch located on the left side of the system next to the security slot, I would like to mention a few points about using this switch:

1. When used in combination with the Dell(TM) QuickSet utilities, this switch enables or disables the wireless LAN, wireless WAN, and Bluetooth® cards in the system or searches for all wireless networks in range.
2. To scan for a Wi-Fi® wireless LAN, slide and hold the switch in the momentary position for a few seconds. The Wi-Fi Catcher(TM) network locator works whether the computer is turned on or off, in Hibernate mode, or in Standby mode, as long as the switch is configured through QuickSet or the BIOS to control Wi-Fi network connections.
3. It must be enabled and configured through the Dell QuickSet utilities to control Wi-Fi network connections. Please download and update the Dell Quickset Utility from here: http://downloads.dell.com/FOLDER94231M/1/R180762.exe

Do reply with results.
