My USB Files are automatically getting converted into Shortcuts of 1 KB each. I tried formatting my pen drive, but it still does not work. i tried different pendrives, but to no avail. it tends to corrupt every external harddrive that i plug in.

I tried MalwareBytes, it doesnt detect the File.

I used CMD and attrib thingy, and it shows a VBS File called HAMZA.vbs, that i tried deleting, but it reappears withing seconds. i used the option to show all hidden files and folders, and it is the only file that is present in my pen drive.

Moreover, i also saw somewhere that Microsoft Security Scanner does the trick, i have not tried it, since i need to have the opinion of an Expert.

Please help me :( i am at my wits end about this :(

Hi Britney Johnson,

You can try using "Microsoft Security Essentials". It is available for download from the below mentioned hyperlink:

Microsoft Security Essentials.

Do reply with results.

Hi,

Try Using Malware Bytes. It will delete your shortct virus.

1) Scan with Flash Scan Mode.

2) Delete shortcut virus.

3) Restart your computer. But don't pug out your USB.

4) After restart, check your USB.

Regards.
