Hello,
My laptop Elitebook 8540p doesn't have a working Bluetooth and the only trace of Bluetooth is in the device manager>Bluetooth USB> BROADCOM Bluetooth device. Please help me get the Bluetooth working on my PC. Thanks
Elton

Hi,

Where you have your power button, there should be a black bar. On that bar there should be symbols and lights. There should be symbol for an antenna. Is that lit up blue? If not, touch it with your finger and see if it lights up blue and stays lit.

If that is all working already I believe it is best to put in the cd that came with your laptop and reinstall the Bluetooth drivers. Then reboot and let the HP update tool check for updates and let it update the driver to the last version.

Best of luck.

To connect a Bluetooth keyboard, mouse, or other device

1. Turn on your device and make it discoverable.
2. Select the Start. button, then select Settings > Devices > Bluetooth.
3. Turn on Bluetooth > select the device > Pair.
4. Follow any more instructions if they appear.
