Instagram, Facebook, and Messenger are DOWN: Meta service outage

Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, and Threads are currently down due to a Meta service outage. If you've been unexpectedly logged out of Facebook, don't worry, it's not just you but almost everyone using these services.

If you've been unexpectedly logged out of Facebook, Instagram, or your Messenger account, don't worry, it's not just you. Meta service outage caused the disruption. It will make your password appear incorrect, but it's actually a result of the service trouble.

Instead of displaying a simplified version of the site, Facebook will automatically log you out and show an error message claiming your login has expired. Attempts to log back in will be met with rejected credentials.

This outage is affecting not only Facebook but also Instagram, Messenger, and Threads.

Problems started at approximately 10:20 am Eastern Time, affecting both the apps and websites of the social media platforms.

If you are worried about what to do next, don't. The disruption will be fixed, and the services will soon return back to normal. No need to change your password at the moment – you're not being targeted by phishing.

Most of the reported issues highlight app-related problems, with 72 percent for Facebook, 64 percent for Instagram, and Messenger at 50 percent. According to DownDetector, which tracks online outages, Facebook is currently experiencing issues for more than 200,000 users in the Americas. Instagram has over 30,000 reports of problems, while Messenger has a little over 8,000.
