Skype notifications

To start, I want to say that despite finding a relevant forum discussing how to turn on and off notifications for Skype (when someone comes online), the settings on Skype for Mac is different and I am unable to manage my notifications.

The only notification you can manage is to go to Conversations>Notifications Settings>Notify me
and this will only notify you when something new happens in the conversation. Not when someone comes online.

Is this option unavailable on macs?
