PC cannot read micro sd card while being plugged inside phone

Hello,

I recently purchased the new 2017 3310 as a portable music player/phone for jogging. My PC cannot detect the my 32GB microsd card while it's inside the phone but when i take it out and slides it in a card reader, the PC can detects it. It would be very annoying for me to pop out the flimsy back of this phone, take it out and put it in a card reader whenever i transfer files. Is it a shortcoming of this model or am i doing something wrong? If it's the way it was designed then i have to say i'm pretty disappointed because even cheap Sandisk MP3 Players lets you copy things onto the Microsd card using a standard USB cable.
