Gonna Smash This Thing

Hello,
I have never had windows vista before this computer so I do not know how to fix the problems I am having with it. I created my administrator account in order to set up controls and such, unfortunately I set the password and now forgot it. I cannot download anything onto my computer and the command prompt way does absolutely nothing because I need my password for it (the same as my log in password) I have been trying to get in for over a month now to no prevail. All I have now is my son's restricted account to sign in, and I cannot use it for anything. Is there any other way than having to reinstall Windows Vista again?
