I just had a very similar issue but it was not easy to figure out how to finally log out and delete the account on my Android mobile. I recommend you this video, hope this helps:

Even if you forgot your old account details, you may remember at least your gmail address or whether you have set a secondary email. Try to go for the "Forgot password?" link and see if you can recover your account. Otherwise, you can only create a new one as far as I know.
