This is quite normal why your mails are getting emptied from gmail! If you don't want this to happen stop using outllook

Check your Outlook 2003 Gmail account settings... see this link http://products.secureserver.net/email/email_outlook.htm
under Step 9:
Internet E-Mail Settings, Delivery , Check / Mark "leave a copy of messages on the server"
