Try this
1. Remove the battery and cable.
2. Press and hold the power button for 58 seconds.
3. Replug and start.

I doubt very much that the Windows update has anything to do with the problem.
If nothing spins, hard drive or fan and that you battery and/or power adapter are in good order, you are more likely facing a power supply issue which originates from the motherboard.
Unfortunately, it's impossible at a distance to make instrumental tests.
A trip to your local reputable repair shop is in order.
