Wifi disabled

Hi Sir,im having old hp pavilion dv4 which working fine until my wifi been disabled, i tried to disconnect the wiring and even reformat it.
Whenever i switch on the wifi using touch botton ( doesnt have shortcut key), it ionly turned on by 1 sec and turned off again. Most of the time the wifi wont even work at all.
Is there still way to recover my wifi connection??

So when you reformatted it, what OS did you put back on?

I have the same issue before but what i did is factory reset my unit and it works, this time, i forgot to back up image my unit and i cant do the same so ive decided to reformat it using windows 7 professional.
Im thinking if my wifi card got burned out or something.but ive observe to that my wifi enable to 1 second or more before it totally disable. I manage to even download google chrome on it

I was planning to buy a wifi dongle but if theres a way i can recover my wifi connection, i will not buy :)

What bands is the router using? B G or N?

Have you checked if the wifi drivers are properly installed?
