Clean computer

Hello,
Can I format my hard drive to include nothing and then load an operating system such as Windows 10.

Format Hard drive would be step one and then run a disk with winows 10.

Right now I have Vista and want to get rid of it. No useful info on this computer now.

Will this work?

If you are not familiar with provisioning drives and initializing volumes, I woukd take it to a pro. Can you change the bios to boot from dvd? If you can do that first, then you need to look into provisioning drives before you start.
