Face book says I'm trying too often to recover my account

My account was hacked. The hacker changed the Comcast E-mail to one I can't access (Hotmail). They may have also opened another FB account with my Comcast E-mail. I am getting Facebook notifications on my Comcast E-mail addressing a name other than mine. I have jumped through all the hoops to regain access to my original Facebook page: clicked on "can't access this E-mail," sent in my new E-mail acct (Gmail), sent my ID, received a link to change my password, and was told I was "trying too often. Try again later." I've waited for 24 hours. I've waited for several days. Same response. How long do I have to wait?

I should add, I've also tried to change the password for the other Facebook account, the one that now lists my Comcast Email. I never received the code to change the password. It is my own E-mail account, and I can access it, however, the activity notifications are addressing someone else.
