Cannot see whatsApp profile pic of friend

From last 2 days I am unable to see profile pic of my friend on whatsapp. He has not blocked me nither he has deleted my contact. I am able to see his status and chat with him. Still I am unable to see his profile pic . Others are able to see his profile pic. How can i solve this issue?
