Vga cable from laptop to Vga

my glass screen on my laptop is shattered, I purchased a monitor with a vga cable to connect my laptop to the monitor, to access data/files on my laptop, but my laptop does not have vga port, what are my options now?

There are USB to VGA adapters that are around $20us.
