Deleting old MSN messenger account

Years ago I had an MSN messenger a count and would like to delete it, I haven't used it in years. Can I do this and how? Also will I be able to keep my Hotmail email account?

Hi,

To delete your MSN account, you must first login. You can then delete it by following these instructions. If you delete your account, your Hotmail account will also be deleted if it is associated with the MSN account.

If you try to log in and your account is not recognized, your account may have been deleted due to inactivity.
