Hi!

My phone is asking me to unlock my sd card. I do not think I have ever set up one.

I tried following the instructions below:

First, you should get to its File Manager or the Application Manager. Under the Settings feature, you will have to look for the MMCSTORE file. It will normally be found in the System folder.

Look for it and send it to your computer by using your PC Suite. You can get it transferred via bluetooth or a USB cable.

As soon as you have it on your PC, right click and select Open with. Select opening it with the Notepad application.

But I cannot find the file mmcstore. Any suggestions?

Hello, have you already looked at this article on what to do if you have lost your Micro SD card password?

To find the mmcstore:
  • Download ES File Explorer
  • Them you will find the framework there go to framework organizer and find the document mmcstore. Then you must rename it as mmcstore.txt and open it.
  • You should see the secret code for your memory card.

You should also be able to follow the steps mentioned in your question once you have found the mmcstore.

Let me know how you get on.

Hi! Unfortunately, I still have not been able to find mmcstore. I have downloaded different apps, none can seem to help.

Do you have another SD card that you could try to use instead?

And have you tried backing up your SD card on another device, notably a PC?

For this you would need the appropriate Micro SD adaptor for your PC, but this could give you a wider range of options.

Steps for unlocking your sd card:

1. Insert your SD card into a card reader and connect the card reader to your computer.
2. Do right-click on This PC, choose Manage, enter Disk Management.
3. Place and right-click on your SD card, choose Format.
