Hey Everybody,
I hope everyone is having a fantastic evening. I have a question and would really appreciate it if my friends here at CCM could help me. Although I've searched online, there are too many contradicting answers.

My question is: Is it legal, permissible or appropriate to repost someone else's v videos on my YouTube channel?

Thank you for your time. Thanks to CCM for having such a great site like this where we can learn from each other.

Hello, no it isn't legal to repost a youtube video (even if you make major changes to it) - it would most likely infringe copyright.

You could do a sort of reaction video, to the other video - but it really depends on what the post of the repost is.

David,
Thanks a million for taking the time to respond to this question. You know, after I posted it I think I should have clarified that I'm really asking about sharing someone's video as-is, unedited by me. For example, if someone uploads a video game review, that I save it on my channel in a playlist named "Video Game Reviews."

Hello, I think if this was just for personal use (private) and just a way of you being able to access your favourite video games reviews then you could. Although if it was just for this, there is a favourite video section anyway for this specific purpose.

If you are intending on sharing these videos publicly you wouldn't be able to (technical you could - but the video could and would be flagged fairly quickly by the original poster, and your account would most likely be blocked).

Regards

Ok. I understand now. I see what you're saying (and you're the only one who explained this way). Again David, man I'm really thankful.
